Are you interested in helping us learn more about memory development in adults with Down Syndrome?

Researcher Lynette Roberts from the University of NSW has asked us to tell people with Down syndrome and their families about the final part of her study on memory:

We are currently looking for participants aged 18-60 years old with Down Syndrome for a study at the University of New South Wales.

The study will involve remembering pictures on a computer screen while wearing a special stretchy cap. The cap has recording sensors inside small sponges to help record the small electrical signals that are on everyone’s scalp all the time. It is a lot like recording your voice with a tape recorder. It is completely safe and if at any time, you feel uncomfortable, we will stop the session straight away.

The study is a once-off session on-campus, parking is free and you will be paid $20 to cover petrol costs. The participant will also get to choose a gift to take home at the end of the session.

If you’re interested in further information or would like to participate, please contact Lynette Roberts on 0405 721 076 or at lynette.roberts@unsw.edu.au
