Mark is not Down Syndrome This short video (2m 18s) was made by Mark's parents to introduce him to the planning group at his school so that they 'can get to know him before deciding his educational services for the upcoming year. Mark just turned 8.'



It has been circulating on the internet this week, with several other families commenting that using a similar approach made a positive difference to how the subsequent planning went. Even if your child's school does not hold a formal Individual Education Plan, a short video might be a very useful introduction for a new teacher or other team members, and help to dispel unwarranted pre-conceptions.
